I have done many things to help the world stay at peace after the horrible World War. In the Treaty of Versailles i punished Germany very heavily for starting the war. I did not allow them to have guns, tanks, military airplanes or ships. This made it very difficult for them to try to fight again. I also took away some of their territories in Africa, islands in the Pacific Ocean and a lot of land in Europe. Also, I made them pay $33 billion dollars to the Allies for pay back which sent them into a very bad depression. Also in efforts to prevent more war I proposed the idea of a League of Nations and this would help make descions between the countries of the world to keep peace. And with the Washington Conference I made it so no more naval ships would be built for the next 10 years in the countries of the US, Great Britain, Japan, Italy, and France. And with he Kellogg-Briand Pact I got 62 countries to promise to settle disputes peacefully.
There are many reasons why World War II started. One major impact to the war is Beniot Mussolini and his followers in Italy. He made false promises about making the country better but if you did not agree with him you faced strong penalties that are felt to be inhumane in America such as jail or being killed. His Fascists ways would not be tolerated by the rest of the world. Also Japan decided to invade and overtake Manchuria to get its land and resources which upset many people. It did because it went against the League of Nations that I made up and the Kellog-Briand Pact. Hitler and his Nazi's coming to power in Germany scared many people. He was very upset about the Treaty of Versailles and wanted revenge. He like Mussolini but people who didn't believe the same things as him were killed, tourteed and jailed. When Mussolini went against the League of Nations and invaded Ethiopia to start his Italian Empire this got everything started for WWII. when Germany occupied Austria and Czechoslovakia and attacked Poland that is when WWII official began.
So far in the war Germany has conquered a lot of Europe including Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Holland, and France. Also months later Romania, Greece and Yugoslavia have fallen into the hands of Hitler and Mussolini. There kill anyone tactics have proved to be lethal. Also Japan has started to invade Indochina. I have passed the Lend Lease Act which lets the US lend or sell supplies to the Allies. Also in the most surprising event of the war so far Germany has attacked Russia and is hundreds of miles into Russia only months after the attack. Proving how strong Hitler is.
But as of this point I am still not going to let the US enter this war. Although Hitler and Mussolini have started to conquer many European countries the US is trying to over come WWI and the Great Depression and has no imminent threat against us.

2009 Depression
I think that there might be another time where we have a very bad economy, worse than right now, at some point in American history. But I do not think that it will be as drastic as the Great Depression because of the way we learned from it and plans we have set up to avoid it. With FDIC money people have earned is always secured and we know that we can get it if we need too. I don't really think about it because I know that we have the plans in order to avoid it and we are in a time right now where we have to cut back and still manage to get by. But if a depression did happen my family would have to cut back and maybe not get the expensive things we like and maybe cut back on sports I play because hockey and baseball are very expensive at times. Also things that we don't really need. But if my parents lost their jobs I really don't know what would happen. The author says that the country wouldn't really change but just see people cut back on things and not really abandon homes and look like the Great Depression. Because people would do things that aren't really drastic like having a home garden or grow animals that they would slaughter to save on meat costs. Also college and sports and leisure activities. According to the author if our country went through another depression we wouldn't see the impact like we did with the first one. I agree with him.
